What should I put in my review?
Great reviews tell people why you liked or disliked your experience. Can you offer readers any tips or suggestions when they visit this business, what sort of people would you recommend visit here? Is there anything unique or interesting about this business? People appreciate reviews that go beyond one sentence.
What can’t I put in a review?
Please don’t post anything that is illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing of intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious to third parties or objectionable, contains software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings, or any form of "spam." We may review your review if a false e-mail address is used, if you have impersonated any person or entity, or have been otherwise misleading.
We may also remove content containing: Text entirely in ALL CAPS, content not in English, content that violates the standards of good taste on this site as determined by Your Food Guide, hearsay, HTML or URL’s.
The contents of your review is your responsibility and must be based on your experience only, not on hearsay (what you’ve heard.) Your Food Guide reserves the right (but not the obligation) to remove or edit such content. We do not regularly review posted content. Users who post unsuitable material may be banned from submitting user reviews. This is entirely at the discretion of Your Food Guide.
Can I write a negative review?
Yes. Readers want to hear about honest experiences both good and bad. Make sure you include all the facts and details. Your opinions are your own but please don’t post false information due to legal ramifications. (link to wikipedia – liable)
What if the business I’m reviewing gave me a discount, a freebie or special treatment?
Lucky you! We’d still love you to post a review but please disclose any special offers or treatments you received as Gold Coast Food Guide readers appreciate you being honest and trustworthy as freebies could have an effect on how you perceive this business.
Can I review a business I work for, own or am connected to?
Certainly but please say so in your review as Your Food Guide reviews are about being honest and trustworthy. Your opinion may be influenced by your personal connection to this business.
Does Your Food Guide remove reviews?
We rely on our members to flag inappropriate reviews for us to monitor by clicking on the ‘Is this inappropriate?’ link next to each review.
